Spousal Support:
The Court’s have the power to order one spouse to pay the
other spouse Alimony, now referred to as Spousal Support.
The courts want each party to maintain a standard of
living they had during the marriage, prior to the divorce
proceedings. Spousal support is unique with each case and
the computer program used to determine child support is
not used to determine the final order of Spousal Support.
Spousal Support can continue indefinitely, or there can be
an ending date depending upon the circumstances of each
case.
